Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 17, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Product Scavenger (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information about visitors to productscavenger.com (the “Site”). By using the Site you agree to the practices described below.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide. If you contact us, we receive your name, email address, and any other information you choose to share.

Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site, we and our third-party partners may automatically collect: IP address, approximate location (derived from IP), device identifiers, browser type and version, operating system, referring/exit pages, pages viewed, time spent, click behavior, and similar usage data. This information is collected through cookies, pixels, web beacons, SDKs, local storage, and comparable technologies.

2. How We Use Information

We use the information we collect to operate and improve the Site, measure traffic and performance, respond to inquiries, prevent fraud and abuse, comply with legal obligations, and — together with our advertising partners — to serve, measure, and optimize advertising.

3. Cookies and Similar Technologies

We use first-party and third-party cookies and similar technologies for analytics, site functionality, and advertising. You can manage your cookie preferences through our cookie consent tool (available on any page of the Site), through your browser settings, or through the industry opt-outs described in Section 5. Disabling cookies may affect Site functionality.

4. Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the Site. Google Analytics collects information such as IP address, device/browser data, and pages visited. You can opt out of Google Analytics by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

5. Third-Party Advertising Partners

The Site may display advertising served by third-party advertising networks, exchanges, supply-side platforms (SSPs), demand-side platforms (DSPs), and related ad-tech vendors (“Advertising Partners”). These Advertising Partners may include, without limitation, Google (including Google AdSense, Google Ad Manager, and Google certified third parties), and other programmatic advertising partners that serve ads on our Site.

Our Advertising Partners use cookies, web beacons, device identifiers, and similar technologies to collect information about your visits to the Site and other websites and apps in order to serve ads that are more relevant to your interests, to measure ad performance, and to detect and prevent fraud. This information may include your IP address, device and browser information, advertising identifiers, approximate location, and interaction data.

Your opt-out choices for interest-based advertising:

You can also enable your browser’s “Do Not Track” or Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal. Where required by law, we honor GPC signals as a request to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.

6. Affiliate Links

Many outbound product links on the Site are affiliate links (for example, through the Amazon Associates Program). If you click an affiliate link and make a purchase, we may earn a commission at no additional cost to you. The retailer may use cookies to attribute the purchase to our Site. See our Affiliate Disclosure for more information.

7. Sharing of Information

We may share information with: (a) service providers acting on our behalf (hosting, analytics, email); (b) Advertising Partners as described in Section 5; (c) law enforcement or other parties when required by law or to protect rights, property, or safety; and (d) a successor entity in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets. We do not sell personal information for money, but our use of third-party advertising cookies may be considered a “sale” or “sharing” under certain U.S. state laws — see Section 10.

8. Children’s Privacy (COPPA)

The Site is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe that your child has provided personal information to us, please contact us at hello@productscavenger.com and we will take steps to delete such information.

9. Your Rights Under the GDPR and UK GDPR

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have the following rights, subject to applicable law:

  • Right of access — to confirm whether we process your personal data and obtain a copy.
  • Right to rectification — to have inaccurate personal data corrected.
  • Right to erasure (“right to be forgotten”) — to have your personal data deleted in certain circumstances.
  • Right to restrict processing — to limit how we use your data.
  • Right to data portability — to receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format.
  • Right to object — to object to processing based on our legitimate interests, including profiling for direct marketing.
  • Right to withdraw consent — where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time.
  • Right to lodge a complaint — with your local supervisory authority.

Legal bases. We rely on: (i) your consent (for non-essential cookies and advertising); (ii) our legitimate interests (in operating and improving the Site, and preventing fraud); and (iii) compliance with legal obligations.

Data controller. Product Scavenger is the data controller for personal information collected through the Site. To exercise any of the rights above, contact us at hello@productscavenger.com.

10. Your Rights Under U.S. State Privacy Laws (CCPA / CPRA and Others)

If you are a resident of California or another U.S. state with a comprehensive privacy law (including Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and others), you may have the following rights, subject to applicable law:

  • The right to know what categories and specific pieces of personal information we collect, use, disclose, sell, or share.
  • The right to request deletion of personal information we have collected about you.
  • The right to request correction of inaccurate personal information.
  • The right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising.
  • The right to limit the use of sensitive personal information.
  • The right to non-discrimination for exercising your rights.

Categories of personal information collected (in the last 12 months): identifiers (IP address, device identifiers, cookie IDs); internet or other network activity (browsing history on the Site, interactions with ads); geolocation data (approximate, derived from IP); commercial information (clicks on affiliate links); and inferences drawn from the above for advertising.

“Sale” and “Sharing.” Our use of third-party advertising cookies to serve interest-based ads may qualify as a “sale” or “sharing” of personal information under California and similar state laws.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information. To opt out, open the “Manage cookie preferences” link in our cookie banner (available on every page), enable the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal in your browser, or email hello@productscavenger.com with the subject line “Do Not Sell or Share.”

To exercise any of your other U.S. state privacy rights, contact us at hello@productscavenger.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding. You may designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf.

11. Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Analytics and advertising data are typically retained in aggregated or de-identified form.

12. International Data Transfers

The Site is operated from the United States. If you access the Site from outside the United States, your information may be transferred to, stored, and processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the Standard Contractual Clauses.

13. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards to protect personal information. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

14. Third-Party Websites

The Site contains links to third-party websites (including retailers and affiliate partners). This Privacy Policy does not apply to those sites. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.

15. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top. Material changes will be highlighted on the Site.
